Aug/Sept 2010 Worldwide Knit a resounding success Iknit in the Wychwoods took part in the worldwide event to knit 105,000 squares for blankets. Aug/Sept 2010 Feedback Memories of the Terrace, horticultural shows, childhood adventures and the dog walkers reply make up the feedback bag. Aug/Sept 2010 Guiding: Party at the Palace Girlguiding celebrated 100 years of guiding with a big paryy at Blenheim Palace. A sleep over and early morning start completed the party. Aug/Sept 2010 Sylvia Turner 1917 - 2010 Sylvia was born in Lewknor near Thame and arrived in Milton at the age of three. In the Land Army she made milk deliveries. Aug/Sept 2010 Wychwood Forest Fair This year’s forest fair is on the site of the new community wood near Crawley. Over 160 exhibitors are expected. Aug/Sept 2010 Open House, something unique This house has benefited from the creative touch of the owners, with something special or unique in every room. Aug/Sept 2010 Fetes roundup: scarecrows, dogs and aliens A photo roundup of the Fifield and Idbury, Ascott and Milton fetes. Plans are already being made for next year. Aug/Sept 2010 Dom is now an Ironman Dom Hollingdale successfully completed the Ironman event in Lanzarote in May and he’s signed up for more! Aug/Sept 2010 Milton Village Hall celebrates 60 A crowded hall saw a series of short plays and monologues followed by a wonderful supper in true WI style. Aug/Sept 2010 Save our Pubs A number of pubs have disappeared from our villages over the last few years, what do we have to do to keep them? Aug/Sept 2010 News from Burford School A geography enrichment day saw pupils doing fieldwork in the Wychwood villages. The school allotments are thriving. Aug/Sept 2010 Kath Cooper: 90 years fit! Kath has plenty of tales to tell about the Wychwoods, living all her life in one or other of the villages. Aug/Sept 2010 Norman Treweeke 1921 - 2010 Norman was born in Sarsden, at the age of 18 joined the RAF and served in the Middle East. He and Dorothy moved to the Wychwoods in the 1950’s. Aug/Sept 2010 Milton under Wychwood Allotments and Gardens Association Isn’t grass wonderful, it survives the droughts!
