As we reach the end of the current year and the start of a new one, we have been reflecting on the work of editing, publishing and distributing the magazine. The proverb says, \u201cIt takes a village to raise a child\u201d, and that is also true of The Wychwood, which relies on the work of a veritable army of volunteers across the Wychwood villages, giving their time and energy to produce something unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because it\u2019s an all-volunteer organisation, we rely on your support as subscribers to keep the magazine alive. Equally important is the support of your friends and neighbours who enjoy reading the magazine but are not yet subscribers. There isn\u2019t much you can buy these days for just \u00a31, barely even a pint of milk, so please help us to keep the subscriber numbers up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s very easy to subscribe and have the magazine delivered to your door; simply scan the QR code on page 4 of the magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope you enjoy reading the Christmas and New Year\u2019s edition, which features stories ranging from the joys of apple pressing to the importance of preserving dying crafts. Recent studies have shown an alarming decline in traditional skills, and so throughout 2026, we shall be featuring the work of a different artisan in each edition.
