As we rapidly approach the start of summer, you will notice a distinctly summery theme to this edition of the magazine. We have dipped into the archive of The Wychwoods Local History Society to bring you fascinating pictures of summers gone by in the Wychwoods, as well as lots of activities to keep you and your family busy this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we continue our series on disappearing crafts, we focus on woodturning and the work of Milton resident Glynn Allcock, who followed in his father\u2019s footsteps by taking up the skill. As we all rely more and more on our digital devices, we also have to pay attention to cybersecurity. Oxford Professor of Practice, Ciaran Martin, founded the UK\u2019s National Cyber Security Centre and writes a must-read article about how to protect your security online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Edwin Wilson, who had been part of the team here at The Wychwood for many years. Edwin had very recently retired from his role as the Advertising Manager to spend more time with his family and doing the things he loved, which included combining his passions for travel and walking. We send his wife, Rosemary, sincere condolences on behalf of all the volunteers who knew Edwin and enjoyed working with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
