The cover price of The Wychwood is being raised to £1 or £5 for the year (6 issues), starting in April. It was just 50 pence, a price that has stood for five years but our costs have risen noticeably for design, printing, insurance and the like. We believe £1 is a fair price, a realistic price for a 66-page, colour magazine filled with local information, photography and locally-based articles. Everyone working on the magazine volunteers their time and any profit we make is put back into the community to support local initiatives.
In an effort to bring more efficiencies to the magazine and our readers, we are also looking at how we collect our subscriptions. In an increasingly cash-free society, we are considering different options to collecting subscriptions, including online payment. Once we have decided on the best approach, one that will suit all our subscribers, we will let you know.
