Milton craft cafe

Milton under Wychwood Community Craft Café was borne from an idea of having a regular meeting place for residents of the local area that could help to combat isolation and loneliness. The plan was to provide light refreshments at modest prices and to also offer art and craft activities for people to explore.

The Community Craft Café became a reality in September 2019 and the venture ran very successfully for six months until lockdown took over all our lives. We were so pleased to be able to open our doors again in September 2021 and each Thursday morning you will find us in Milton Village Hall from 10 until 12.30. The café is run by a team of volunteers and all of our profits are given to local charities as well as to support the village hall fund. In October last year, we were able to give £500 to charities and the village hall.

The café offers delicious cakes and savouries to have with your favourite cuppa and, for those who want to try something new, the café also offers a variety of different arts and crafts, plus regular workshops with help from local artisans. Ceramic painting, block printing, mosaics, knitting, sewing, painting and needle felting are just a few of the crafts on offer.

We also have a produce table for people to sell their homegrown fruit and veg or homemade jams and pickles (with a small donation to the café from each sale).

We would love to see you at the café, so why not come along and enjoy the company – a warm welcome awaits you.

The craft café is not the only venue where everyone is welcome to meet over coffee and a slice of cake (n.b. the craft café’s cheese scones come highly recommended!).  Every Wednesday morning in the library, coffee and cake are supplied while on Friday mornings you can enjoy the same treat at the hall beside Milton Baptist chapel.
