Shipton PC news

Come and join us for the Annual Parish Meeting. This year it will be held on April 21st at 7.30pm in the New Beaconsfield Hall. As per the regular format, we will be reviewing the last 12 months and receiving reports from various interested groups in the community. We will be discussing current and future issues affecting our village and giving you the opportunity to air your views or concerns. We look forward to seeing you there and in an effort to tempt you along we will be providing cheese and wine refreshments.

Ever fancied being a Parish Councillor? Well, now’s your opportunity. Elections for councillors to serve on the PC are scheduled every four years and for Shipton they are to be held this year on Thursday, 5th May. An election will be held if there are more candidates than the seven positions the PC holds. If seven (or fewer) applications are made then it is an uncontested election and you are in!

For an idea of what the PC does, please see our article in the February-March issue of The Wychwood magazine. The only qualifications are enthusiasm, commitment and a genuine desire to make Shipton a better place. If this appeals to you, then please contact The Clerk, Zoe Thornburgh, for further details of the nomination process at –
