Wychwoods Repair Café

Broken hoovers, bikes, toys, chairs, coats and even a faulty toy Father Christmas were amongst the household items that found their way to the Wychwoods’ first Repair Cafe on 7th November. Sustainable Wychwoods Action Group (SWAG) were thrilled to welcome over 30 customers to a very busy first café. We’ve had to increase the volunteer repair team for upcoming 2022 cafes to get through even more repairs!

The Repair Café is run by volunteers and we ask for a donation in return for the service you receive. We can’t promise to fix what you bring in, but we’ll have a go. Repairing an item saves it from being sent to landfill and saves the energy (and therefore carbon) that it takes to produce a new item. Plus it saves you pennies!

What can you bring?

  • Jewellery
  • Electrical items (including computers)
  • Tools that need sharpening
  • Clothing & textiles
  • Toys
  • Bikes
  • Any other general household items

The Repair Café runs from 2.00pm – 4.00pm at Wychwood Primary School with tea and cakes. Wast0 also runs a refill stall; bring your reusable containers and fill up on bulk items such as pasta, rice, soap, washing up liquid, nuts, dried fruits and more without the plastic waste.  Our next café is on Sunday 6th February.  Can you help at the Repair Café or with the Teracycle scheme? Please contact sustainablewychwoods@gmail.com

SWAG also runs the teracycle bin at Milton Village Hall. Take your crisp packets, biscuits, sweets, chocolate wrappers and bread bags to be recycled. Please do not bring any other waste.
