Our last issue contained many items of general interest – U3A, Burford Festival, cats, dogs etc (in fact, a member of The Wychwood team was threatening to write an article on guinea pigs just to continue the theme but I managed to dissuade him!), but we were a bit light on items of more local interest. This time I believe we have got the balance about right with more emphasis on local matters and local people. You can read about our newly retiring minister, the changing situation of a village postmaster, a long-disappeared sweet shop and the forthcoming panto.
But in addition, we are providing opportunities for readers to contribute short items in three areas: how about submitting a favourite recipe for our ‘Healthy and tasty’ section? Or send in a short review for a book you have really valued and which you would recommend to others. Or let us know a single item of good news, which we can add in our ‘Congratulations’ section.
Such short items provide everyone with an opportunity to contribute but, as usual, it is our regular contributors who fill our pages with items of local interest for which we are immensely grateful.
