Wet, wet, wet

Remember the weather in February this year? Storm Ciara, Storm Dennis and Storm Jorge almost without a pause. But readers may be surprised to know that February was neither the wettest nor the warmest February on record. John Miskin has been recording weather statistics for the past 25 years here in the Wychwoods and his records show that there have been three warmer Februarys since 1995, the warmest being 2002. Although we had rain on 24 out of 29 days, the rainfall total was actually less than in 2014, despite 2020 being a Leap Year. As for wind, this February was, just, the windiest since John’s records began. So while people moaned for England, it could have been worse.
