In a recent issue of this magazine, a reader sent a very downbeat poem, lamenting the supposed decline of the Wychwoods. Here, a fellow reader presents a very different picture of our communities.

If you are new to the Wychwoods then we offer you a warm welcome to our thriving community and hope you will feel at home very soon.

There is so much going on as will be evident from the variety of articles in this magazine and the publication’s very existence.

We hope you will feel encouraged to join the various organisations – whether it be amateur dramatics, volunteering with the young and not so young, singing, physical activity, gardening, arts and crafts, local history, becoming involved in one of the churches – there is something for everyone and we hope you will find a welcome everywhere.

We are fortunate in the Wychwoods in having many services – the main line railway and local bus services, shops and post office, doctors’ surgery and other health providers, care provision for the elderly, the school, library, a selection of pubs and so much else.

We look forward to meeting you, and to you and your family becoming part of the Wychwoods community.
