Does healthcare bother you?

Healthwatch Oxfordshire, the county’s independent health and social care watchdog, is recruiting new Trustees.

If you have a passion for making things better, and you like to make a positive contribution to how health and care services are delivered, you could be the ideal person.

Healthwatch Oxfordshire is a charity whose role is promoting and supporting local people to get involved in, and have their say on, the planning, commissioning and delivery of health and care services.

Rosalind Pearce, Executive Director of Healthwatch Oxfordshire, says: “These services are facing enormous pressures as patient demands increase and become more complex, while at the same time there seems to be constant reorganisation and change. This means it is more important than ever before that the voices of local people are heard and acted upon by hospitals, GP practices and care services.”

As a Trustee you will determine the Charity’s strategy and support the executive team to use what we learn from the public to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided locally.

Healthwatch Oxfordshire is particularly looking for candidates with experience in communications, including social media or website development, but also happy to talk to anyone with other relevant experience, for example in research or HR. Most importantly the charity is looking for people with a commitment to improving health and care services across the county.

The Trustee Board meets around six times a year. The role is unpaid with expenses paid.
