Nicola Boulton has been co-opted onto the council, a valuable addition, but on a sad note, we send our condolences to the family of Pat Edgington who passed away recently. He was a man of great community spirit who was generous with his time, often working behind the scenes on behalf of the Parish.
Many of the social houses at St Jude’s Meadow have now been filled and the occupiers seem to be very happy with their new homes. The Council continues to monitor progress of the site and is keen to ensure safety improvements, particularly regarding the dry stone wall, the stepped wall and the safety barriers.
The saga of a footpath at the back of The Sands on the new Spitfire Homes development is continuing. We are fighting hard to get a footpath established so that pedestrians and dog walkers have a safe and pleasant route between Frog Lane and Jubilee Lane. The developers have already agreed to create a wetland area for the benefit of the community and now the council is in discussion with the landowner to see if the bottom half of the field can also be designated as a green space.
The annual safety check of equipment on the village green was positive and gave us recommendations for further actions to be taken.
Finally, “tis the season to be jolly” and we will be holding our annual carols around the tree on Christmas Eve next to The Hare with donations going to the Wychwood Day Centre.
Come and join us if you can.
