Milton parish news

Spring has been a busy period for the Milton councillors. A sub-committee has been established to consider bids to spend the money we will eventually receive when the St Jude’s Meadow houses are sold.  You have probably heard, but we will eventually have a boost of £120,000 into our coffers to improve or create new sport and recreational facilities in the village. There are some great ideas coming in from residents which will be considered by the full council later in the year. Ideas include; improvements to the village hall and allotments, extra facilities on the Village Green such as skate parks, table tennis, shelters, fitness equipment and a pump track (for bikes).  We will continue to accept bids so if you have a bright idea, please contact the clerk.

There have also been great efforts made to restart the programme of replacing the church wall to make it safe for generations to come.  After parts of the village green became waterlogged, a new drainage pipe has been installed to drain the water away. Meanwhile, anyone that has walked along the stream by the allotments will have seen that the trees are starting to sprout which bodes well for the future of this recreational area.  And if you want to get involved in the council’s activities, we still have one vacancy that we would love to fill.
