Milton Parish news

Good news/bad news
First the bad news. Some of you will be aware of recent acts of vandalism on the village green, on the footbridge at Littlestock Brook and general acts of bad behaviour. Wes Smith, our PCSO, advises that if someone is seen in the act of vandalising something in the village then it is a crime in progress and you should call 999. If the damage has already occurred and it’s not noticed until the day after for example, then it would be a 101 call or you could report it online at https://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/. These meaningless acts detract from the atmosphere of our beautiful village, so let’s see if we can collectively stop them.

Now the good news. The PC will be in receipt of approximately £118,000 in staged payments over the next couple of years from the St Jude’s Meadow housing to develop new, or improve existing, leisure facilities and services in the village. While there are certain restrictions, at this stage, we are looking for suggestions from individuals, clubs and societies on how to spend the money for the long-term benefit of residents. So, get your thinking caps on and either email ideas to Jenny Miller at miltonparishclerk@gmail.com or post them through her door at 33 The Sands. A set of bidding criteria will then be sent out to you.
