Shipton council news

This year, the Annual Parish Meeting, to be held on Thursday 18th April at New Beaconsfield Hall, will be tackling current issues in the village; namely the Deanfield Homes development, the allocation of section 106 funding for play, sports and recreation (on behalf of WODC, received for the additional houses in the village) and the installation of superfast broadband by Gigaclear.

The APM will also be recognising and celebrating the achievements of as many village organisations as possible. Local groups will either be reporting on their activities or displaying their work in the hall. There will also be reports on what the Parish Council has been up to over the last twelve months.
The meeting will finish off with wine and refreshments, giving residents the opportunity to talk and look at the displays.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Naming of the Deanfield development
The Parish Council invites your views on the naming of the development next to the school. The development and the associated streets within it will all need a name.
If you’re feeling inspired, send your suggestions to Lisa, the parish clerk, by 10th April 2019. The proposed names will then be discussed at the Annual Parish Meeting on 18th April. The final recommendations to be sent to WODC will be decided by the PC at their Annual meeting in May.
See https://www.westoxon.gov.uk/media/188634/street-naming-and-numbering-policy.pdf for WODC’s guidelines on what are acceptable names.
