What is the PPG?

The Wychwood Surgery Patient Participation Group (the PPG) started over 12 years ago; since April 2016 such groups have been statutory. Members are all registered patients, coming from the villages served by the surgery with meetings taking place four times a year in the evenings.

The group gives patients an important voice in many aspects of the Practice’s work. It is a forum for discussions on views and suggestions from patients; it fosters communications between Practice and patients (the Practice Newsletter, Patient Satisfaction Surveys, The Friends and Family Test). Members represent patients on local healthcare service forums, and work with other PPGs in adjacent areas and give advice during preparations for Care Quality Commission Inspections. Members meet CQC Inspectors.

The PPG has a noticeboard in the Surgery – have a look next time you visit the surgery – and plans to extend its communications in The Wychwood Magazine, across the Practice website and in social media.
