News from the Library Friends Group

The local villages have been so lucky to have wonderful library staff who care about their customers, work really hard to make the place attractive to all ages of villagers and help set up many new groups and initiatives.

With the retirement of Ruth Gillingham a tremendous resource has been lost to us. Ruth has worked tirelessly to make the place so attractive, and I am sure we will all miss her and wish her a long and happy retirement.

The village was very generous with their donations, and we raised enough money to give Ruth a portrait of her old dog, Letty. The money left over also purchased some gift vouchers. (The total raised was over £350).

By the time you read this, we will have welcomed our new Library Manager Marianne Ferrero. I am sure everyone will look forward to meeting her as she gets used to our village life.

The next event will be the Milton village fete on the first Saturday in July. Donations of books for this will be gratefully received in the library. Offers of help on the day also appreciated and can be made to our new Library Manager after 14th May.
