Cooped up no longer

coopportakabinA revamped Midcounties Co-operative Food Store in Milton-Under-Wychwood has been unveiled following a £320,000 investment, and the portacabin that resided on the Green for a short period has gone.

The team from Medical Detection Dogs, the store’s local charity partner that trains dogs to detect diseases in humans, officially cut the ribbon to the refurbished supermarket on the 26th October. The makeover has seen a modern new look introduced, with energy-efficient refrigerators to reduce emissions, and increased product ranges to provide more choice to customers.
This includes an extended bakery and alcohol section, as well as an expanded ‘Best of Our Counties’ range, which showcases more than 200 food and drink products from suppliers in Oxfordshire and neighbouring counties, including Wychwood Brewery, The Meat Joint and the Oxford Cheese Company. Self-scan tills have also been installed to provide an even quicker and more efficient service and improve the shopping experience for customers.

Rachel Hughes, store manager at The Midcounties Co-operative Food in Milton-Under-Wychwood, said: “It was wonderful to have the team at Medical Detection Dogs welcome so many people through the doors at our celebration event. We are confident our customers will love the store improvements, and the new products we’ve introduced, as much as we do.”
