Libraries are branching out

museumlibraryvisitWell done to all our young readers at Wychwood Library who have met the challenge to read six books this summer and solve the strange goings on and catch the crook! We have enjoyed discussing the books you have read, and we have also had fun working on the hypothesis that “reading makes you grow!” We measured the heights of all children taking part at the beginning and end of the summer and the interesting results are available in the library.

The Oxford University Museum service visited Wychwood Library at the end of August for Mystery at the Museum. Children were able to use their detective skills to help identify the mysterious artefacts and to make their own silver coin! Fun was had by all.

New knitting group

We are calling all knitters to a monthly gathering in the evening to knit, chat and have a glass of wine/tea/coffee. This group will meet on the second Monday of the month from 7-9 p.m. and experienced knitters will be available to help. All experience levels are welcome.

Regular events to look out for at Wychwood Library include:

  • Evening Reading Group on the first Monday of the month at 7.30 p.m.
  • Afternoon Reading Group on the second Thursday of the month at 1.30 p.m.
  • Poetry Group on the third Thursday of the month at 2.30 p.m.
  • The Wychwood Circle, a discussion forum open to all to explore what we believe, on the first Sunday of the month from 7 – 9 p.m.
  • The weekly Wednesday Coffee Mornings from 10 a.m. – 12 noon
  • Late Spring on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 10.30 a.m.
  • Tai Chi every Monday at 10 a.m.

And, just to remind you, we have Wifi.
