Shipton council news

Everyone seems to be in good summer spirits despite the national political turmoil, but let us be careful about leaving our places open as summer burglaries continue. On the subject of summer, it is a shame that the Shipton fete was not able to go ahead but there was a very successful Milton fete. The phone box in Fiddlers Hill has now been adopted by the Parish Council from BT in preparation for the new defibrillator that will hopefully be installed shortly. We will announce when a training event is taking place; and thanks again to all who helped with fund raising. Work is progressing on a new website which will be more eye-catching and easier to use. We tend to forget that this is the window on the village for potential visitors and others looking for local business services. The three raised beds on the allotments are up and ready for their new users. They are on offer- free for the first year- and while they are designed for the less able, they are equally suitable for teaching your grandchildren gardening. Progress is being made on flashing lights for the school and our speed watchers are still activeā€”more next time.
