Ring out the bells

On the evening of 25th March, the New Beaconsfield Hall resounded to the sound of The Nathan Jones Big Band. After the excellent supper cooked by a willing band of local ladies (and one man), the audience was soon up and dancing to music from 1930s classics through to music as up-to-date as Adele.
A magnificent £1725.60 was raised, and will go towards the fund to restore and rehang the bells of St. Mary’s Church. One of the new headstocks will be marked to indicate that it was paid for by ‘The residents of the Wychwoods who attended the Big Band evening on March 25th 2017’. Seeing that in a couple of hundred years, someone may wonder who we all were.
Thanks go to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, from the cooks and washer-uppers, the bar staff and those who set-up and cleared the hall for the evening. The Nathan Jones Big Band was so popular that they will make a return visit on Saturday 2nd December for an informal party night to get in the swing for Christmas. Put the date in your calendar, look out for posters nearer the date or email me on gordon@sinnelsfield.co.uk for more information. Book early though – the March event was sold out within days.
