Shipton Parish Council news

The Annual Parish meeting took place on 20th April with a small but supportive attendance from residents. We received a number of useful reports which will be available on the website within the draft minutes. We currently have a Councillor vacancy and if you would like to join us you would be more than welcome.
We now have sufficient funding in place, thanks to generous donations from Mrs Stephenson and the WI, for a second defibrillator in the current phone box on Fiddlers Hill. We hope the adoption and installation process will be complete by mid- summer.
The allotment improvements are looking good and plots are available, including some pre- prepared plots for the less able. The container on the allotment site can also store medical aids, so if you have any you no longer need, please consider donating them for emergency use. Details on both from Jill Mavin (831 091).
Speedwatch is now up and running to deter excessive speeding. We need more volunteers to run it; if you can help please contact Ian Drainer on iwire4@yahoo.co.uk
The Volunteers have had a great year with 7 new volunteers and 603 hours of work last year. At the going rate for local gardening work, that is a £12,000 contribution to village life.
Congratulations!!
