Milton Parish news

Milton PC has seen two huge projects come to completion this Spring. The first was the installation of 12 woody dams in Littlestock Brook. Managed and funded by Wild Oxfordshire and the Parish Council, its purpose is to slow down the surge water following heavy rainfall, which threatens to flood residents of The Heath every year, and reduce the erosion of the banks. The dams, constructed from logs provided by Bruern Estates, are firmly embedded into the banks of Littlestock Brook upstream of the allotments, and is part of a wider project based in the River Evenlode catchment. We are hopeful that this will serve us well for years to come and is a tribute to the hard work of, among others, Cllrs Chris Trotman, John Pratt and the now retired Chairman Graham Collett.

The second project is the launch of the new Parish Council website. By now, the website should be live and a source of useful information for all parishioners. Cllr Paul Young has produced a website which will also enable parishioners to be informed about all Parish Council related matters and allow a gateway to more discussion and sharing of ideas. Please take a look at it here www.miltonunderwychwood-pc.gov.uk and let us know what you think.

Katy Boyle has recently stepped down from the council after much hard work so we need a replacement. We would be very pleased to hear from anyone interested in being a Councillor.
