Walking for health with the Wychwood Walkers

You may have seen us on a Tuesday afternoon walking in Shipton or Milton. Why not come and join us; we meet at 2.00 p.m. every Tuesday afternoon? On the first two Tuesdays of the month we meet at the Wychwood Surgery, and on the remaining Tuesdays at the Milton Village Hall. There is no joining fee, just 50p for a cup of tea and a biscuit after the walk.
We complete our walks within the hour, which means that the longest distance we cover is about 2 miles, and not everyone is expected to walk that far. Our motto is “Walking for Health” and although everyone is encouraged to walk the full distance, we recognise that this is not possible for all, and so we adjust the length of our walks to suit our walkers. Some walk the whole hour, some less.
The Wychwood Walkers group was started around 13 years ago by the Wychwood Surgery to promote and encourage walking as a beneficial healthy exercise. If you feel that a gentle, convivial walk once a week is for you, please contact Sue Mann on 832434 or Marjorie Connolley on 832851. Alternatively turn up next Tuesday – you will be very welcome.
