Milton-under-Wychwood Parish Council

The large woody dams project on the Littlestock Brook, to intercept sediments and flood surges, has been substantially completed and the Environment Agency is remotely monitoring the initiative’s impact.

In February we hosted an informal Wychwoods PCs Together meeting to discuss common issues. Drug abuse by teenagers and safety of schoolchildren on the roads were prioritized; transport challenges were also discussed. As part of our Emergency Plan for unforeseen major catastrophes, there is agreement in principle among the three villages to share temporary accommodation and support mechanisms.

Dog fouling of the Village Green and our footpaths is a continuing challenge from a tiny minority of dog owners. The PC closely cooperates with the District Council to confront offenders.

Final design of the PC’s dedicated website has been completed and the site, when active, will be advertised. We would like to take the opportunity to thank Tim Jones for posting our information on his village website.

The PC budget for 2017-18 has been approved, and provisional budgets for the period up to 2020 have also been set. It is intended to provide some new seating around the Village Green play area. The PC expects to continue to provide support to locally based charities and good causes.

The PC’s Planning Committee has submitted its outline proposals for development of a Neighbourhood Plan (NP) for future land use and related issues in Milton; this will involve wide consultation with our community.
