The new editor, Bob Forster, has lived with Lynda in Shipton for 30 years. Both of them were primary school teachers who retired in 2010. Bob has always had a love of words, writing regularly for a variety of publications. As well as this, he is keen on sport, now mainly at the armchair stage, music and gardening, including an allotment in the village. He is a practising Christian. As he takes on the editor’s role he is keen to develop the magazine further by increasing the range of articles and appealing to a broader readership.
Glynn Allcock has lived in Milton, also for 30 years, and is a serving officer in the RAF. He has spent most of his career in parachute training and currently works at RAF Weston on the Green. A keen golfer, he is usually found at weekends hacking around the Wychwood Golf Course. He would like to encourage the many readers to write about their lives and experiences in our beautiful community so that everyone can share them. Glynn is married to Sarah who has also volunteered to act as an assistant editor.
Sarah Allcock worked in advertising, television and for a local charity, before taking a break to bring up her daughters. During this time she served on the Milton Playgroup Committee and was a Sunday school teacher. She worked at Wychwood School as a TA, eventually leaving to embark on a postgraduate teaching qualification. Still teaching locally, she spends her free time going to the theatre, concerts and walking around our stunning villages. Sarah firmly believes that in such an amazing community, everyone has knowledge to impart, or a story to tell, and would love people to share theirs via the magazine.
